TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED KIDNAPPING AND ASSAULT

Phuthaditjhaba: 10 November 2024 -* The Phuthaditjhaba Police arrested two suspects at Mabolela Village in Qwaqwa after they allegedly kidnapped and assaulted the victim accussing of stealing speaker and gas cylinder bottle and reported to police.

It’s alleged that on 24 October 2024 at about 20:00, the complainant was playing in the street together with his friends when a Mercedes Benz vehicle without registration plates stopped near them with four occupants inside. He knew two of the four people he identified amongst the four suspects. They forced him inside the car, accused him of stealing their sound speaker, and a gas cylinder.  They threatened to kill him and drove with him to Mabolela village at one of the known person’s house where on their arrival he was allegedly assaulted with a sealed bottle, pick-axe handle and further poured him with water. The victim sustained injuries on his face and left arm. He was admitted at local hospital for further medical treatment.

The two suspects were arrested and charged. They are expected to appear before the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate court on Monday, 11 November 2024, facing charges of kidnapping and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
