FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN BOHLOKONG FOR ALLEGED MOB JUSTICE

Bohlokong: 7 November 2024 – The Thabo Mofutsanyana District Murder Investigation Team together with Bethlehem Crime Intelligence successfully cracked a mob justice case in which George Motsoeneng (28) of Bohlokong Extension 1 was badly assaulted by some community members in the street, accusing him of stealing a car radio and he sustained severe head injuries but unfortunately succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. 

It’s alleged that on 26 October 2024 at about 18:00, the mob justice victim was found lying in the street by the community and rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment. On 27 October 2024, the police were informed of his death by a local hospital, and the case of murder was opened.

The matter was handed over to the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Murder Investigating Team, who worked around the clock following information, which led to the arrest of four suspects. One of the suspects was traced in Qwaqwa and brought back to Bethlehem for detention as he fled the area of Bohlokong after a commission of crime. 

The four suspects are expected to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate Court on Thursday, 7 November 2024, facing a charge of murder.
